! VERY IMPORTANT!
According to NIST 800-88 rev.1, each data wiping process must be verified on at least 10% of the disk surface.
The entire disk surface is divided into 1000 parts and in each of these parts at least 10% (or selected value) of sectors are randomly selected for verification.
Bad Sektors size taken from S.M.A.R.T. which will be displayed before confirming the data deletion process. This value will also appear on the wiping report.
The application can create the appropriate type of disk partition so that it is visible to the system.
By default, it is NONE (MBR only) where, after starting the computer with wiped disk, information about the data wiping process performed by WIPERAPP will be displayed.
Selecting this option will automatically start the data wiping process according to the selected settings when the application is launched.
TIP!
It may happen that we have not changed the information that should be included in the wiping report (e.g. Customer, Reference number) and in order not to lose the license, we can stop the process that has already started, just perform a hard reset (hold down the computer's power button).
Selecting this option will result in the Operator performing data wiping having full access to the settings.
Leaving it unchecked will result in the Operator being able to edit only the fields: Erasure Operator, Supervisor, Customer and Reference number.
According to NIST 800-88 rev.1, this information should appear on the report.
Editing these fields are always possible from the Admin and Client levels.
